Since 1992, the head of the Orthodox Church, Anastas Yanulatos, has been demanding Albanian citizenship earnestly but has never succeeded.
The objections to this request have been passed to several presidents' hands starting with Sali Berisha, Maidan, Moisiu, Topi and also the last before Meta, Nishani.
Anastas Yanulatos was born on November 4, 1929, in Piraeus, Greece.

From 1992 he took the title as Archbishop of Albania's Autocephare Orthodox Church, amid opposition to Albanian Orthodoxs as seen as being documented and in films made during the proclamation of his election.
