She says it is privileged to have been part of this historic Libya moment, where, for the first time in more than 70 years, the ruling power is transferred from one democraticly elected president to the other.
This is her full post:
I completed my mission as co-chairman of the NDI observer delegation of the second round of presidential elections in Liberia. Part of the leading delegation were the former president of Nigeria, Mr. Goodlick Jonathan, former Ghana Foreign Minister, Mrs. Hanna Tetteh, and regional director of UI for Africa, Mr. Christopher Fomonyoh.
I feel privileged to be a witness to a historic moment for the state of Liberia, with my first case in more than 70 years, the ruling power is being passed by one democraticly elected president to another. I am especially pleased that these choices were well organized and in a peaceful atmosphere.
I hope that the mission's findings will help local authorities address shortcomings to serve the consolidation of Liberia's further democratic state.
