Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri said today that fighting corruption will be a priority during his work at the helm of this ministry.
Using “The anti-corruption week” that started today with some activities in Kosovo, Tahiri said the corruption week's marking has found Kosovo more mobilised, as he says it has given the right answer to this negative phenomenon that is holding back the European future of Kosovo's state.
“Under these efforts, as justice minister, I have taken measures that contribute exclusively to this direction. The procedure for adopting the Bill for the Prevention of Conflict of Interest as well as the State Prosecutor, the adoption of the Governance of the Document for Suspending Officials in case of corruption, changes and complements in the Penal Code, and the review of the mandate of the Anti-Corruption Agency and the process of declaration of property are just some direct measures of that nature”, Tahiri wrote.
Tahiri vows to fight organised crime and corruption, whose results will affect the increased citizens' trust in institutions.
Kosovo ranks high on international organisations' lists for the presence of corruption in public institutions.
