U n NICEF issued an alarm bell today for the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where 400,000 malnourished children risk dying in the Kasai region (centre) under the threat of violence since September 2016.
At least 400,000 children under five years of age, in the Kasai region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, suffer from extreme malnutrition and may die in 2018 if the U statement does not interfere with health care and food aid”, suggests NICEF.
More than 750,000 children in the region suffer from extreme malnutrition”, the United Nations Children's Fund adds.
The heavy situation has been largely caused by violence, massive shift and agricultural production in the past 18 months”, according to the organisation.
