Training began on Thursday in northeastern China, some 276 square miles [276 sq km] from coral waters.
The training rate as well as the exact number of participating ships are reported to be high.
Four-day naval exercise began amid “tuhie” of military activities in the region.
The United States, South Korea, and Japan held joint military exercises this week to pressure North Korea to stop testing missiles.
Meanwhile, last week more than 40 warships from the Chinese navy took part in a major training in the East China Sea.
