Full statement by Chief Parliamentary Kadri Wessel
There have always been different positions about the Special Court. I know yesterday has not been an easy day for Kosovo. But this should not discourage anyone or weaken faith in Kosovo and its friends.
Kosovo Assembly MPs are sovereigns in their rights, responsibilities and decisions.
In respect of the Parliament Rule, the 43 deputies' initiative to bring in a bill abolishing the Law for Specialised Chambers has been reviewed and prosecuted for decision-making, based on the Parliament's Rule. The whole process has been developed to conform the laws of the country and the political positions of each subject.
Kosovo remains steadfast in its Western dedication, integration into the European Union and special reports with the United States of America.
The Kosovo Assembly, under the Order and Constitution, is now introduced into winter break until the third week of January.
