Italian media bring an incredible story -- that of Albanian athletic champion Izmir Smajlaj, who reached the top of Europe just a few months ago, but ironically, there is no environment for training.
The long jump gold medal in Belgrade's European, apparently served nothing because Izmir has no chance of increasing its sports level.
The magnificent and pompous reception at the KOKSH, just days after Belgrade's success, as always has been forgotten in a few weeks, and the Albanian champion has been forced to <x0migrate” in the city of San Marino to train.
His story has attracted the attention of local media, which stress that the 24-year-old has no chance of training in Albania for the Ancona, Istanbul and Germany events, and perhaps even Cuba's, reports the SS.
This is my third time in San Marino. One more week before the Europeans came here, I trained here and later managed to win the gold medal, setting up the 8m 8m 8x1> Albanian record, says Smajlaj on San Marino television.
In 2018 the champion from Shkodra will take part in the world of closed halls that will be held in Birmingham, but in the interview given for Italian media, he points out that the primary objective is success at the European Championship in Berlin, this time in the discipline of open halls.
