The Health Ministry through a communique for the media has announced that it has supported 30 thousand euros worth of medical treatment abroad, patient Florent Hoxha, affected by acute leukemia.
“In order to eliminate malformation and misuse from various parties of cases that apply for treatment abroad for diseases that cannot be addressed overall in Kosovo, the Health Ministry informs the public that, based on legislation in power and medical documentation presented on the application case, it has supported the 30 thousand euro medical treatment outside the country of patient Florent Hoxha, affected by Leukia acus”, the MSH report said.
According to the MSH, Hoxha has applied for medical treatment abroad on December 6th 2017, while approval of treatment abroad and default to implement the treatment was issued in two days, on December 8, 2017.

In addition, the Health Ministry has offered to the patient the option of free treatment in the Republic of Turkey, under the agreement on co-operation signed between the two states, with which Turkey covers the treatment of 100 Kosovo patients annually in public hospitals.
“The Health Ministry, however, respects the patient's right to choose the hospital for treatment”, the announcement concludes.
