Under the organisation of the General Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in New York and the American Economic House in Kosovo, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Association of Regional Development Agencies (ARDA), wines, cheeses, water and chocolates produced in Kosovo have been promoted in New York.
President of the Albanian diaspora, representatives of American businesses, also attended the US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley.
During her speech, Haley said that the US will work for Kosovo to be recognised as a UN member state, because Kosovo and US respect each other, believe in each other and have the same democratic values”, adding that this kind of connection cannot be stopped.
Speaking of the challenges all states face at certain times, she also mentioned the fact that Kosovo has helped the United States during the last storm that struck Texas.
Kosovo General Consul Tetuta Sahatqi said the holiday season is a good opportunity to promote Kosovo's guests, Kosovo wines and other products.
She thanked for her presence, specifically Ambassador of the United States of America Nikki Haley, for whom she said she is a great supporter of Kosovo at the United Nations Security Council of America.
Shatqi also thanked Kosovo's American Economica for the initiative and conduct of Kosovo products in the US, until she mentioned the fact that the wine produced in Kosovo is the first summer ever to be brought to the United Nations Security Council tables, and on the part of Japan's ambassador.
On the other hand, American Ode Executive Director Arian Zeka said that Kosovo, in addition to producing good and more wine, has already created a good environment to do business, becoming more attractive to foreign investors. And that, according to him, is also confirmed in the World Bank Doing Business report, where Kosovo is ranked 40th from 190 countries in the world.
At this organised reception in New York, 36 different brands of wine have been promoted by six Kosovo wine producers StoneCastle, Old Bodruimi, Agro Kosova, Eko, Kosova Wine and Sefa Wine, Rugova producers' cheeses, Sharri and Magic Ice, Rugova producer water, and Amel chocolates.
