Fighting corruption must be selective

The leader of the Besa Movement, Bilal Kasami, commenting on the arrest of dozens of people who were part of violent events on April 27th as facing justice of the VMRO-high structures. The DPMNE, free Europe tells Radio that the party's 5 deputies will support Zoran Zaev's government. According to him, [...]
According to him, Zaev's government is on the right track to clean up corruption and organised crime within state institutions, installed by the preliminary government led by VMRO DPMNE and DUI, although it cautions that fighting corruption must be unselective.
And we're willing to support Government when it's going to need to completely clean up with government corruption. In this direction, the Besa Movement will support any reform activity of the Government. But to have confidence, this government must continue in this spirit to clean up corrupt elements that are now part of it, as the subject of the ruling coalition, which were formerly part of the government with VMRO-DPMNE. Only comprehensive cleanup of corruption elements can restore citizens' trust in security institutions, judiciary and state bodies in general”, Kasami says.
He considers freezing judicial processes against senior DUI leaders, for whom, on the basis of spying talks, there is indifference that they are part of criminal acts, will not affect the stability of the Government. On the contrary, according to Kasam, the government will also receive support from MPs who are not part of the ruling coalition.
I believe that conditions will be created, but the numbers in Parliament, so that they can be cleaned up with this part of corruption and I believe MPs in Parliament will reflect if the government continues to deal with this serious problem with which the Government has been confronted in the past, both in terms of corruption and in terms of the creation of cases mounted, etc., Kasami says.
On the other hand, connoisseurs of political developments in Macedonia say that once the Public Prosecutor is complete with the latest changes, in terms of the completion of the staff, it can be expected to begin investigating all cases for which there is any indifference. that senior state officials, both they and part of the government, are involved in crime.
I expect that as soon as the Public Prosecutor starts operating with its full capacity, it will begin with the dawning of all cases, which in the opinion, even in the direction of wiretaps, there is serious indication that certain structures that were part of the past coalition, and are still part of the government. in the concrete case in DUI, to open investigations into eventual involvement in criminal acts”, he considers Marko Troshanovski from the Institute for Democracy.
The change of power, he adds, has paved the way for the liberation of the judicial system, though deep reforms are needed, keeping away politics for rule of justice under recommendations required by the international factor, as the obligation for Macedonia to become part of the European family.
