The officers have received calls on December 10th after a resident in the Charlotteburg area has found the bags.
German media have said police have been searching near the area, but have found no more ammunition.
When asked about any possible link to terrorism, a police spokesman has said, it has nothing to do with anything like that.
“unification is always found in Berlin”, he said.

Security in Germany has increased at holiday times, especially near Christmas markets.
A year ago, a Sunnisan Islamist crashed a truck into such a market in downtown Berlin, leaving 11 people dead and the truck driver.
