The new European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo, Igor Soltes, is the grandson of former Yugoslav politician Edward Kardelj.
He reminds “Sputnik” that he tried to win Pristina's sympathy in the first statement, saying the biggest challenge in his mandate would be the five EU member states that have not recognised Kosovo's independence.
Soltes, who came to that country instead of Uric Lunacek, also noted that the European Union expects Pristina to complete the demarcation of the border with Montenegro, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
“Sputnik” notes that the EU, which is the main mediator in the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, has taken the stance that dialogue is neutral towards status, in other words, that the topic of dialogue will not be the status of Kosovo, and that it has long considered there will be no pressure on the other five Union members to recognise Kosovo./Periscopi/
