Insider has discovered that Podujevo chairman Agim Veliu made a decision that has been deemed illegal by the Kosovo government. He adopted social property which legally belongs to the Kosovo Privatisation Agency. Chairman Veliu through this decision is damaging a private company that has employed over 200 women in the factory [...]
Agim Veliu, chairman of the Podujevo, just three days after reconfirming in the new mandate has acted contrary to what all candidates in the election campaign have promised: promoting foreign investments. On November 22nd this year, three days after the runoff, the Podujevo municipality has taken action to prevent a company employing over 200 women from this municipality.
The company “Jaha Company”, in co-operation with German investors of the company “Kappa Antipasti”, has opened the country's vegetable processing plant and the assets of former social enterprise “Fapol” The private company paid rent to the Kosovo Privatisation Agency for their exploitation.
However, problems have surfaced on land exploited by rent. The Podujevo municipality, illegal according to the Ministry of Management of Local Power, has made a decision that this land will be registered in the cadastra as municipal property. President Veliu's decision establishes that the land is the municipality, while the AKP assets.
But the Privatisation Agency claims that both land and assets are under its management.
For this reason, the AKP has indicted the Podujevo municipality for alienating property. The trial has not yet made a verdict, and the land is officially in property disputes. However, the Podujevo municipality led by Agim Veliu is not awaiting the court's verdict. He decided to get the private company out of there.

The damage caused by Agim Veliu's illegal decision
Jahir Hoxha, director of the company “Ja Group”, has told Inseder that the municipal authorities' decision to build the sports gym on the ground exploited by the factory is harmful. Hoxha has shown that the part where sports gyms are planned to be held, the company uses it to preserve processed vegetables.
I don't have another place to put them. This Communist decision jeopardises Albanian-German investment and the lack of jobs of over 200 women employed in the factory”, Hoxha has told Inseder. Also, according to him, 270 local farmers contracted by the “Jaha Company” are also being damaged. The processed materials in this factory are exported to Germany.
Hoxha has indicated that municipal authorities have failed to lay the foundation for building the sports gym on November 22nd. That day, municipal officials had come to execute this decision.
The company's management had announced the Privatisation Agency for the Podujevo municipality action. According to Hoxha, The AKP sent a letter to the Podujevo municipality that day.
“We announced the Privatisation Agency for actions that the municipality did and after the letter was made by the AKP, the municipality left, and did not know why they did not shoot the qualm”, Hoxha told Inseder. He has added that his company is obliged to implement the contract with the AKP, which he has been paying rent for two years.
