The club has announced through a media statement that it analysed the incident in the Guimaraes match held in Portugal, when Evra hit a fan in the face of the kick.
President Jacques-Herri Eyrad, has eventually removed the player from the club.
“Jacques-Herri Eyrad, president of Olympique de Marseille met with Patrice Evra today and informed him of his immediate departure”, the club's statement said.
Evra was punished with red card and left the field after the gesture.
Evra had left Juventu in January to pass to Marseilles with a call from coach Rudi Garcia.
Marseilles had suffered losses with Guimaraes with a score of 1-0.
Evra suffered injuries this season and didn't have that many fights.
