With high honours from the Honorary Guard today, Albanian Defence Minister Olta Xhacka from Kosovo Security Force Minister Rrustem Berisha has been hosted, who have talked about the achievements and goals for the future of the KSF.
Minister Berisha has announced during the meeting her counterpart for the process of transforming KSF into the army and about co-operation with the strategic partner, NATO for Euro-Atlantic integration.
“I assured the minister about the process of transforming the KSF, because we are making constant efforts to make this happen with constitutional changes and we are working hard that even the majority not to be part of this transformation and that the path towards NATO integration will certainly be much easier for us if this happens with constitutional changes. We are working extremely on the integration of non- majority communities, we have over 10 percent of the quota of this non-communal community”, Berisha has said.
Minister Berisha has also demonstrated readiness for the KSF to be active security contributors by advancing security preservation and peace building capacities in the region.
And I also showed the readiness that we as the Kosovo Security Force are willing with our operational capacities that we possess to be pro-active security contributors and we want that, in reality, these capacities to advance even further, but to take our responsibilities in maintaining stability and building peace in the region”, Berisha said.
Albania's Defence Minister Olta Xhacka has said it is a special feeling to be in Pristina on the eve of the November holidays.
She stressed that Kosovo is ready to move forward on the irreversible path to Euro-Atlantic integration, and that Albania will be side-by-side Kosovo on this journey.
“As regards transforming the Kosovo Security Force, I assured Minister Berisha that Albania sees it as a process based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and in co-operation and co-ordination with our international partners. There should be no lack of trust for a moment in allied countries and partners who have witnessed for years the most serious engagement with their politics, for open doors. Kosovo is already ready to move forward on the irreversible path to Euro-Atlantic integration, we will be on your side for the time being on this journey to share with you our best membership experience”, Gacka said.
The KSF, according to Minister Jaka, is fully professional and one of the most trustworthy institutions in Kosovo.
Both ministers have also visited the Centre for University Studies in KSF, at the “Adem Jashari barracks.
