Here's where the international investigation into Kumanovo case can be sought

The same suspects that not all persons involved in the Kumanovo case have been tried and sentenced. They say that only with the help of internationals can we have a fair epilogue for the events of “Brave Law”. Jurist Arifi differentiates between the international investigation and what lies in the government's plan for the Kumanovo case.

I would have wanted to differentiate between what is called international investigation and what is written in the government's programme, which is called international co-operation or support in conducting the investigation because it is not a small difference. There are times when international investigation is made and such a process is very difficult to take place, and it is usually done by an international organisation such as the United Nations -- said Besa Arifi lawyer.

Criminal law expert Slagjana Taseva says the international investigation would clarify the dilemmas for allegations raised about other involved.

Maybe there are other people involved, maybe there's something else that hasn't been cleared up yet. And that's why even now, even today, to clarify the situation, despite procedures that have been directed against those for whom the prosecutor claims there is evidence, can further investigate this penal-juridic event as such -- said Sladjana Taseva, criminal law expert, writes Alsat M.

Meanwhile, Justice and Home Affairs Minister have long pledged that, in Kumanovo's case, international investigation will begin, but they have never determined when to initiate such a thing.

Family and lawyers of persons who received the maximum sentence under charges of “Terrorism and terrorist organisation” have consistently sought international involvement in the investigation, with suspicion that investigations have been conducted unilaterally and selectively. For the bloody events of 9-10 May in Kumanovo, 8 people were sentenced to life in prison, 4 were released in absence of evidence, while others received 746 years in prison.
