Granit Jaka confessed as never before, touching words about his father's history

Before Saturday's derbit between Arsenal and Tottenham, Jaka showed why he believes his strong mentality was taken from the time his father, Ragipi, was a political prisoner in the former Yugoslavia, Periscopi broadcasts.

Granit's father was arrested in 1986 when he was 22 years old, having participated in demonstrations against the Communist regime of his day. When he was arrested, he was sentenced to six years in prison.

I as his son, this story touches me deeply. I often tell him to tell me again, but I still don't think he said it all. There's always been moments of calm when I felt like he ate something and didn't say how it was”.

My father and many others protested basic rights as the right to vote. Many others were arrested, including his uncle. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison”, the Periscope broadcast.

One of the strange things is I don't know how he got out of jail before the sentence ended., But he was released at the same time as his uncle. None of the family knew until they appeared on the doorstep of the house”.

Jaka's parents, who had met each other three months before Gran's father went to prison, decided to emigrate to Switzerland in 1990. A year later, the first child, Taulanti, was born, and 18 months later Graniti was born.

The footballer of Albanian descent once again highlighted the great positive influence his father had on his character and brother, Taulant.

My father showed a tremendous force and made Taulanti and I grow up with strong, like him. We had this idol, this example man, who taught us that we must be strong to achieve the things we want in life. It's why even in the field we have the mentality that we try everything without fear”, Jaka concluded.
