10 government inspectors Mustafa in Pristina appear before court, charged with corruption

In the trial against former Pristina municipality inspectors today, the defence questioned accused Skender Canolli.

As one of the 10 accused in the trial of Pristina municipality inspectors, Canolli was questioned by his defence attorney and defenders of other indictees in the trial.

He was questioned about the function he had before and during the time that he allegedly committed the criminal work he was charged with.

I worked as a driver until about 2008, then I worked as a completion official in the municipality. My duties were to organize the company's collapse”, Skender Canolli replied to his defence question.

Furthermore, the defense asked Canolly to explain the procedure of destroying an object during his duty as a completion official.

The accused Skender Canolli said he accepted orders from the chief of the sector and inspectors.

Canoll further explained that the chief of the sector first compiled an act of collapse and then announced the company's collapse to organise the collapse and then inform the inspector who, according to him, determined what had to be destroyed.

The defence asked the accused if 36 verdicts have ever been handed over to him for destruction on objects that are part of the indictment, but Canlo denied accepting 35 decisions of collapse, “except a decision on an facility of investors Pozegu Brothers”.

That decision, Skender Canolli said it had been handed over to the chief of the sector and that it had been protocol.

Skender Canolli was also questioned by his defense regarding his car and his confiscated money.

“Venture was purchased by my son”, said Canolly, meanwhile, the money in the franc currency and dollars found in his apartment belonged to his father, who said he had taken it from the family living in Switzerland during visits he had made to them over a period of 10 years.

The accused Skender Cannolly was also questioned by lawyers for protecting other indictees in the trial.

Charged in this trial are Ismet Haliti, Skender Canolli, Blerina Syla, Vehbi Abdullah, Blerim Ibishi, Ardian Muhadri, Arbenita Ajjeti, Mergim Shala, Granit Cey and Drita Rukiqi.

All of these have been acquitted of prosecution charges.

According to the indictment, Chief Inspector Ismet Haliti and accused Skender Canoli, Vehbi Abdullah, Drita Rukiqi, Blerina Syla, Blerim Ibishi, Ardian Muhadri, Arbenita Ajeti, Mergim Shala and Granit Cena in the quality of official persons at the Construction Inspection Directorate in Pristina, in the January 2010 period of January 2010, with the intent to benefit rich, with the intent of failing to fulfill their official duty, so they have not prevented the construction and the construction of cases.

The prosecution also claims that the defendants have not executed decisions on the destruction of objects that were illegally built in Pristina's municipality territory, acting as a criminal group that has exploited their official position for committing criminal acts.
