The Ophelia storm has caused some rare phenomena, including a red sky and birds moving mysteriously, just before the first - category storm struck. But photos from Lancashire, England, show a strange event, an entire town covered with foam.

Because of strong winds and foam from the sea, roads and buildings were covered with foam, making motor vehicles difficult to move.

Ofelia was a third-class storm after it escalated over the weekend, coming from Azores across the Atlantic to the United Kingdom.
Experts claimed it was the most eastern storm of the Atlantic basin since France's storm in 1980 and Hurricane Debby in 1961 that killed 12 people.
