Spanish Ambassador to Belgrade Miguel Fourtets Suarez told daily “Politika” that “Spain is grateful to the government of Serbia for failing to raise this issue at the time President Aleksandar Vuciq intended to send a sign of protest over the comparison between Catalonia and Kosovo”, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
Vuciq said earlier that the letter was ready and signed by him, but Prime Minister Anna Brnabyq would not take it to Brussels. Instead, he said, he would later surrender at Spain's request, so as not to make the situation worse in that country.
However, the delay does not mean that the president and government will give up, insisting on receiving answers to the questions it intends to ask the European Union and, above all, why Catalonia cannot, while Kosovo's self-declared independence can be considered legal./Periscopi/
