Chronic sleeplessness can precede anxiety development, and it can also promote depression. This data comes from several Norwegian studies from Haukeland University, published in the latest edition of the magazine “Sleep”
According to researchers, chronic insomnia is a sense of subjectiveness and of having problems with sleep loss or stable sleep during most nights for at least a month, the telegram broadcasts.
Sleeplessness, Concerns, and Depression
Researchers have traced depression, anxiety, and insomnia to over 25 thousand Norwegian adults. During the first study, researchers have expelled anxious participants or depression and have examined only those with insomnia.

People who had chronic insomnia during their first study were partly prone to anxiety - related diseases.
However, studies also revealed that chronic insomnia does not predict exposure to depression. People with insomnia during the first study have not been inclined to show signs of depression during the second study.
This does not mean, however, that depression and insomnia are not linked. People with chronic insomnia compared with people without insomnia were more prone to anxiety or depression.
Relief from insomnia can help prevent anxiety - related disorders from developing.
