Haradinaj for sexual violence: Kosovo society finally rids itself of this long anxiety

Representatives of these associations thanked the prime minister for the will and support shown for the beginning of the process of verifying the status of victims of sexual violence in the Ottoman term of five months.
Prime Minister Haradinaj expressed his readiness and government leading to progress in fulfilling tasks by all parties involved in the process, recognising and verifying the status of victims and closing this tragic subject for Kosovo society.
During the meeting, the parties agreed that in close co-operation with relevant government dictatorships the amount of pensioning of victims of sexual violence of war and that it will continue with other phases of implementing the law on this category of society.
Likewise today, Prime Minister Haradinaj also met with the chairman of the Government Commission for Verification of the Status of Persons Raped During the War in Kosovo, Minire Begaj, who was accompanied by Life Krasniqi, deputy chairman of the Commission, Nazmije Kajtazi from the Ministry of Health and Hykmete Ramosaj from the Kosovo Institute for War Crimes.
Minister of Labour and Social Management Skender Recica also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed how far the process of identifying and verifying women raped during the war in Kosovo has reached, and what actions must be taken to compensate for the damages and the decision of a special pension for this category.
Prime Minister Haradinaj said that this topic has broad sensitivity, has dimensions of the tragic proportions of what has happened at home, and that this topic must be placed on stable track, for Kosovo society to eventually be free of a long nightmare.
Commission Chairman Minire Begaj said it is political issue and as such should be treated with dignity.
