German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Thursday that any action by US President Donald Trump's administration to withdraw from Iran's nuclear agreement would drive a wedge between Europe and the US, reports “Deutsche Welle”, Periscopi broadcast.

“It is necessary that Europe join this issue”, Gabriel told “RND”s.
We should also show Americans that their behaviour on the Iran issue will push us Europeans into a common position with Russia and China against U.S. ”, he added.

Despite numerous warnings from world leaders and even within its administration, Trump is expected to announce a new strategy Friday for confronting Iran, which would include “de-certification” of the nuclear agreement with Iran.
The agreement, reached in 2015 between Iran and international authorities, was due to international sanctions in exchange for the dissolution of Tehran's nuclear programme.
The UN nuclear overseer has repeatedly confirmed that Iran is maintaining the limits imposed by the agreement. Trump, however, has denied Iran for violating “the soul of the deal, first by supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and then testing newly developed ballistic missiles.
“would be a devastating signal for nuclear disarmament”, Gabriel said.
Some states may see the failure of the Iranian agreement as a signal to arm themselves with nuclear weapons as soon as possible”, he stressed./Periscopi/
