Serbian diplomacy chief Ivica Dacic has said Suriname has drawn recognition of Kosovo's independence.
He has stressed that he has received an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this state “after the long work and many talks”.
The “Note of attracting Kosovo's decision and recognition of independence has reached October 30th. This decision shows that it must be tried, talked to everyone, if we think that Kosovo is national interest”, Dacic has said, broadcast the news.net.
He has added that by August 2012 more than 80 states have recognised the state of Kosovo, while during the time of his mandate, 5” alone.
This shows that it's not all over, as someone says. I'm not sure Pristina will publish this news. This is a very important event”, he said.
According to him, this decision is not a precedent, since it has happened before, but it is a rare occasion.
In the case of Kosovo, this was with Sao Tome and Príncipe, after power was changed. We haven't done this with money, there's no money, there's no pressure, we have to pressure, but we have to be consistent in our attitudes. I'm sorry that Kosovo has known many states that we have been friends with during the time of Josip Broz Tito, but that we have been dealing with enemies”, Dacic has said. /Lajmi.net/
