Nurse Allison Segal discovered the child's terrible wounds in her testimony Friday, reports “Daily Mail”, Periscope broadcast.

Gabriel died in 2013 after having suffered eight months of abuse at the hands of his mother, Pearl Fernandez, 31, and her boyfriend, Isauro Aguiirre, 35, at their home in Los Angeles.

Segal said that at night it was necessary to offer hospital service to patients who had been victims of abuse, according to “ABC 7”

“There was a lack of skin on the upper neck, so Gabriel had multiple wounds...,” she said.

Segal said Gabriel was fighting for life through a fan where his heart had stopped at least twice.

On Wednesday, the children's brothers and sisters told the court how the couple separated him and subdued him to misuse him after they thought he was gay.

Prosecutors say Fernandez and Agurire put cigarettes on his skin, beat him with a stick and shot him with bullets.

While they accept the torture of the boy, Agurire denies the murder because he claims his death was unintentional.

Besides beatings, they tortured the boy to eat the perishable food.

His brother described this moment as having once forced him to eat rotten spinach, and he even vomited when he threw it at the table afterward.
