U.S. Congressman Elliot Engel said that the Chinese and Russians deceived America during the International Police Organization's International General Assembly, INTERPOL, which ended with Palestine's membership in the organisation but not Kosovo.
While the Interpol General Assembly was being held in Beijing, the US offered Russia an exchange agreement. The US agreed to pressure Kosovo to withdraw its application for membership in the international police organisation if Russia agreed to back their strategy for the Palestinian issue.
The agreement included Serbia and China. But at the end of the summit, Palestine became part of INTERPOL but not Kosovo.
“America's diplomatic strategy in INTERPOL clearly failed and apparently didn't have a plan B”, Engel, senior member of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, told Jerusalem Post.
He added: “This is a real influence of Trump Administration's foreign policy: Russia and China dumped us, and now Palestine is part of INTERPOL, but our ally Kosovo is not”.
He has said he expects to listen to the State and Justice Departments as to how to clean up this created mess. /Express/
