INTERPOL requested from Italy to Kosovo for forged documents and abuse of office

A Kosovo citizen has been extradited from Italy to Kosovo, following his arrest by Italian authorities on the basis of an international listing letter issued through INTERPOL.
According to the Kosovo Police report, extradition was carried out on July 23rd 2026 by the Directorate for International Police Co-operation, in co-ordination with Kosovo Police and justice institutions.
“The suspect was arrested by Italian authorities, where the same was demanded through INTERPOL with an international note, released by Kosovo's justice institutions, for criminal work ukalification of documents and the misuse of official position and authority; and that the same had avoided justice”, police have announced.
According to the extradition police, it was realised based on laws in power and thanks to close co-operation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and those of Italy. After returning to Kosovo, the suspect has surrendered to competent authorities.
The alleged “, following the extradition, has been handed over to relevant police units, the Pristina region for follow-up with other legal procedures”, noted in the report.
Kosovo police stressed that they will continue co-operation with local and international partners in fighting crime.
“The Directorate for International Police Co-operation will continue with the exchange of information with local institutions, states and international organisations, with the aim of preventing, investigating and uncovering criminal activities that connect with the investigation of the perpetrators of criminal acts, as well as other activities in tracking, arresting persons and criminal groups operating inside and outside the country”, police have announced.
