(2 hours ago)Kosovo's Institute for Justice (IKD), within the framework of the civic legislative initiative for change and fulfillment of the Republic of Kosovo Criminal Code, will organise the activity today to begin collecting citizens' signatures in support of this initiative.
The event will be held at Teresa's “Square in Pristina, where citizens will be able to sign the petition to support the proposed changes to the Penal Code.
In an interview for EO, senior IKD researcher Gzim Shala had declared that this initiative comes in response to the continued disrespect of the Constitutional Court's decisions and the need to strengthen rule of law.
“Po, initially, such an initiative from what we have announced as the IKD represents a first action, the initial action for announcing the Kosovo Republic of Kosovo's Parliament for launching such an initiative, which is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Law on Legislative Initiatives. The reasons, it means, why we have raised this issue are related to two issues: which is implementing the Constitutional Court's decisions and incriminating the actions of political acts that are in power through actions that violate the” political race, Shala said.
