Hungarian public television stops broadcasting: Public media cannot lie

Hungary's public television, M1, has temporarily interrupted broadcasting the information programme, displaying on the screen an unusual message pardoning the way it works in recent years.
According to Hungarian portal 24.The message was published on the M1 screen and on its official platforms: “The public media cannot lie. We apologize for doing just that for many years.
The message stresses that public media are going into a transformation process with the goal of future independence and reliability, while the intelligence service is temporarily suspended.
MTVA's Media and Marketing Office announced that, in addition to the M1, Radio Kosusuth broadcast, which has been temporarily replaced by Radio Bartok's programme, has been halted.
According to the statement, the black screen symbolises the end of an era, arguing that over the past few years public media had fallen under the influence of political power and had lost its key post for objective and reliable public information.
This comes after Victor Orban lost his election and therefore his power. /Periscope/
