Bekim Haxhiu: Supreme Court rejected my complaint to recount, decision violates trust in elections

Through a public post, Haxhiu said he respects the Supreme Court institution but disagrees with its reasoning, claiming that new evidence has been ignored in the prosecution.

According to him, the complaint was based on the Central Election Commission Secretariat Report (KQZ) for recounting 185 deployments, for which he claims it evidenced errors in 38 municipalities and a change of 10.71 per cent of PDK votes in recounted samples.

Haxhiu also objects to the Court's assessment that mistakes have been isolated, claiming that the official report testifies that they have been recorded in any municipality where the recount has been made.

He also accused the CEC of failing to make all the data available regarding the election changes for each candidate, naming it a violation of procedural equality.

Candidate of The PDK stressed that the difference between him and the last candidate to have won the mandate is 102 votes, while arguing that in a system of open lists, there is the distribution of votes between candidates and not only the general result of the political subject.

According to Haxhiu, the certificate of results in these circumstances violates trust in the elections and sets a dangerous precedent for future election processes.

He warned that he would continue to seek protection of his constitutional rights and the right of citizens for their vote to be counted correctly.

At the end of the response, Haxhiu thanked 20,541 citizens who, according to him, have given the vote in these elections, wished success to the PDK's elected candidates and criticised incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accusing him of <x0 political games” and “manipulation with the will of citizens”. /Periscope/
