(an hour ago)An official of the Ministry of Environment reportedly has been arrested under allegations of misuse of official position and forging documents, in a action conducted by Kosovo Police in co-ordination with the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina

According to the report, the action was held on July 21st, around 11:30, by the Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), the Corruption Investigation Sector, respectively.
Investigations have raised doubts that the N.M., in the quality of the official responsible for biocid products in the former Ministry of Environment, has exceeded its competencies by issuing import permits contrary to the Law on Biocides and Chemicals.
According to the investigative file, he allegedly authorised the import of active substances forbidden by the European Agency for Chemicals (ECHA), as well as pesticides, for which legal competence had the relevant institution within the Ministry of Agriculture.
Signal sources suggest that, as a result of these permits, prohibited substances have allegedly entered the territory of the Republic of Kosovo at different times through different economic operators.
The suspect was interviewed in the presence of the defense attorney, while during the action police have seized two mobile phones, which will undergo examination.
Under State Attorney's decision, Nazim Magera was sent to the ban for 48 hours, under suspicion of criminal acts. “Use official position or authority” and “dued the official document”.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
