Rubio: Kosovo's NATO membership issue is currently on the agenda of member states

As Chairman of the European Subcommittee, Congressman Keith Self used his time during a congress hearing session with Secretary of State Marco Rubio to contribute to Kosovo's NATO membership and to stress the importance of continued US engagement in the Western Balkans.
Based on his recent visit to Kosovo, the Presevo Valley, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Congressman Self described the region as extremely fragile “ ” and stressed that Kosovo's integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions remains essential for long-term regional stability.
Congressman Self also welcomed the recent appointment of US ambassadors to countries in the region and stressed the importance of appointing a US ambassador to Kosovo, noting that he is looking forward to the administration's support in fulfilling this important position.
Secretary Rubio reaffirmed that the United States remains engaged in the Western Balkans and committed to preventing conflict and instability in the region.
Congressman Self continues to be one of the strongest voices in Congress for strengthening relations between the United States, Kosovo and the Albanian-American and Albanian communities.
