From reform and dialogue to consensus on European path ? all that Antonio Costa said in Pristina

European Council President Antonio Costa, at a media conference held Wednesday in Pristina, has been asked about the attack on Banjska in September 2023, namely Serbia's accountability to this attack and the continuation of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
Costa, before reporters, said the parties should focus on the prosperous future of the European Union.
The European Union is a peace project. The European Union was born from the ashes of World War II. The European Union was born when the two former participants -- Germany and France -- have decided to overcome differences and focus on a prosperous and progressive future. This is the story of the European Union and the future of the European Union”, the EC head said.
Among other things, by stopping in reports between Kosovo and Serbia, Costa said that all of us have had some problems with our neighbours in the past”.
Sometimes the very dramatic problems, but we have to decide what we want to do with values, the common future or the fighting of the past, when we have fought each other. We should focus on the common future”, Costa said.
Senior European Official Kosovo's application for membership in European Union also stopped, handed over in 2022, underlining that the process requires continued commitment in implementing agreed reforms.
“In the reform agenda we have agreed to the EU membership process and it is very important that Kosovo, step-by-step, deliver the results of what we have already reconciled”, Costa said.
He voiced confidence that at the end of the integration process, there will be no obstacles from the European Union for Kosovo if obligations taken are met.
I believe that at the end of the process we will have no problem with the European Union. However, at the moment what we need is the major national consensus regarding EU membership”, he said.
According to the EC president, this consensus should be reflected in concrete steps that will prove the country's commitment to the European road.
“This can be translated into concrete actions by clearly maintaining the path of this”, Costa stressed.
European Council President Antonio Costa from Pristina has sent a message to political leaders he met with Wednesday, stressing that partnership with the European Union is associated with responsibility and concrete commitment to reforms.
Referring to political developments in the country and early elections held this Sunday, Costa said the European Union could support Kosovo, but cannot carry out its duties.
Kosovo is going to elections this weekend and my message to all the political leaders I met with today was simple, partnership comes with responsibility. The European Union can support Kosovo, but it cannot carry out its duties, instead”, He said it.
He stressed that Kosovo needs strong, stable and functional institutions capable of implementing reforms and taking advantage of the opportunities the EU offers.
Kosovo needs strong, stable and functional institutions, capable of implementing reforms and exploiting opportunities the European Union offers”, said Costa.
According to the president of the European Council, European integration should be the common priority of all political acts, as he put it, despite differences and divisions,
