The House of Representatives adopts resolution to limit Trump's military actions against Iran

The United States House of Representatives has adopted a resolution aimed at stopping President Donald Trump from taking further military action against Iran without the approval of Congress.
The resolution was approved by 215 votes for and 208 against, after four republics joined the Democrats in a rare show of opposition to the war, which started in February.
This is the fourth attempt by the House of Representatives to limit Trump's competencies on war issues, as critics argue that the military's actions towards Iran have not received the necessary authorization from Congress.
However, the resolution must also be approved by the American Senate, which is controlled by the Republicans. Even if it passes to the Senate, analysts estimate the move would not fully prevent the possibility of military action against Iran, writes BBC.
A similar resolution passed a preliminary procedure in the Senate during May, following seven failed attempts, but has not yet been put to the polls at the plenary session.
Wednesday's vote is seen as another sign of divisions within the Republican Trump Party. It comes just days after a group of conservatives in Congress rejected administration plans for an $8 billion fund destined for support of political allies.
In the House of Representatives, Republicans Thomas Massie, Brian Fitzpatrick, Tom Barrett and Warren Davidson joined the Democrats to ensure the adoption of the resolution. Also, Democrat Jared golden from Maine, who had earlier voted against similar measures, this time supported the initiative.
The Congress is the only institution that proclaims war and this is something we should carefully protect”, Republican Tom Barrett declared from Michigan.
Asked whether he feared President Trump's reaction to his vote, Barrett replied: “I vote according to my conscience and what I believe is right, being willing to face the consequences”.
