The EP approves the Kosovo report, Terras: I hope the institutional blockade ends

The European Parliament has approved the report for Kosovo at Wednesday's meeting, where 47 votes have gone ahead.
In this case, the rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Riho Terras, has said he hopes that Kosovo will exit the institutional blockade in which it has now entered and many months.
“Just a thank-you to all, all of the co-reporters who are very constructive and work well together, and I hope Kosovo gets out of the deadlock soon, Terras said in the European Parliament.
Otherwise, the report on Kosovo expresses regret over the consequences of the political stalemate and delays in the country's reforming processes.
The report, drafted by Eurodeputet Riho Terras, estimates that Kosovo has lost an important year because of the political blockade, while warning that the following months could also be affected by the election process.
The document stresses that this situation could jeopardise timely implementation of reforms and full benefit from the European Union's Growth Plan.
Kosovo's application for candidate country status is based on the report, and calls on EU member states to advance relevant procedures.
Also welcomed is the decision to lift measures against Kosovo, which is described as unjustified and negative in Kosovo society.
The document reaffirms the importance of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia as part of the European integration process. Also required is that the responsibilities of the terrorist attack in Banjska be brought to justice, voicing concern for the lack of criminal proceedings against Milan Radojici.
The report is considered an important political message for Kosovo's European perspective and for the need to continue reforms on the path towards integration into the European Union.
