Elections, Costa message to political leaders: EU may back Kosovo, but not carry out its tasks

European Council President Antonio Costa at the media conference has sent a message to political leaders he has met with today, stressing that partnership with the European Union is associated with responsibility and concrete commitment to reform.
Referring to political developments in the country, Costa said Kosovo is heading towards the elections this weekend and said the European Union can support Kosovo, but cannot carry out its duties.
Kosovo is going to elections this weekend and my message to all the political leaders I met with today was simple, partnership comes with responsibility. The European Union can support Kosovo, but cannot carry out its duties, instead”, he said.
He stressed that Kosovo needs strong, stable and functional institutions capable of implementing reforms and taking advantage of opportunities it offers European Union.

According to the president of the European Council, European integration should be the common priority of all political acts, as stated, despite differences and political divisions.
