Critical of new EU system - travelers wait hour at airports

The president of the International Aeroport Council (ACI) in Europe, Stefan Schulte, has criticised the accession control system and the release of non-European Union citizens at the Union's borders.
It's the Entry-Exit system (EES), which the EU has been implementing for several months and meaning control of travellers based on biometric data. Schulte has called on EU politicians not to pretend EES is functioning smoothly.
“Travelers during peak hours wait hours in a row, and I just don't know how we will face in the coming weeks with the expected increase of”, said Schulte, who is also the head of the Fraport company managing Frankfurt International Airport.
Problems have emerged at EU airports, since the introduction of EES. One such case took place in April, when passengers in Milan Cityster line lost their flights because of problems in passport control, writes Bubc.
Schulte thinks complete flexibility is needed so that border controls can suspend implementation of the EES when necessary to avoid chaos. He called for review of this system.
The EU allows the temporary suspension of EES under circumstances scheduled until September. But, Schulte recalled that the summer season lasts more than September and that after that they may face a complete collapse of the system. /Periscope/
