Costa from Serbia: Full implementation of Ohrid Agreement is essential for road ahead

European Council President Antonio Costa, after his visit to Kosovo, has also paid visits to Serbia.
From there, Costa, during a media conference, has said that European enlargement is built on trust, has stressed that regional co-operation and good neighbourly relations must be held.
On the other hand, he has stated that implementation of the Ohrid Agreement in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is essential.
The road ahead is challenging, but direction is clear. We need to focus on three top priorities. First, fostering good neighbourly relations and regional co-operation. These are vital for both security and economic prosperity. The dialogue Belgrade/Pristina and full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement are essential in this direction, he has said.
On the other hand, addressing Serbia, Costa, has called for an approach to European Union policies and values.
Second of all, alignment with European Union policies and values, especially with our common foreign and security policy. These are not just principles that we support; they are the very foundation of our European project and our partnership with Serbia. Third, the implementation of ongoing reforms is necessary to move forward on your path towards membership. We encourage you to keep accelerating reforms in three important areas you mentioned: rule of law, including full implementation of required requests and information, he has said among other things.
