The United States records Venezuelan-rich uranium: Victory for the World

The US has reported that they have removed highly enriched uranium (HEU) from Venezuela, in what the American Department of Energy (DOE) named a victory for America and the world.
In a statement Friday, DOE said it had completed the removal of all wealthy uranium left over from a inherited research reactor” to the South American nation and had transferred it to the US for processing and reuse. The removed amount was 13.5kg of 30 pounds).
This “action sends another signal to the world for restored and renewed Venezuela”, the statement said. Also, it welcomes the president's crucial “leadership US] [Donald] Trump” on this matter.
Washington resumed relations with Karakali after US forces arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in January on charges of narcotics. The removal of uranium was co-ordinated with Venezuela's Ministry of Science and Technology, the DOE statement said.
American non-proliferation officials argue that any civil reserve HEU, regardless of size, poses a long-term threat to theft, deviation or trafficking and should eventually be removed from circulation. Venezuela's transfer is much like dozens of similar operations on the removal of the HEU conducted over the past three decades as part of the US-backed non-proliferation routines aimed at civil research reactors.
