An environment adapted to the cultivation and processing of drugs, hidden below a birdshit in the village of Vrestas in Maliq, has been discovered by prosecution investigations, leading to the arrest of one suspected person and the search for another.

Official sources suggested that the person with the C.L. initials, suspected of criminal activity “producing and selling narcotics”, committed in co-operation, while another person is being sought for several criminal acts.

The operation was conducted in co-operation with the Local Police Directorate Korca and the Narcotics Investigation Section, following investigations conducted with proactive methods.

During the raids, investigators discovered a secretly built environment under a bird's mouth, especially disguised for the cultivation and drying of narcotic cannabis sativa plants. Access to this space was accomplished through an improvised structure leading to an underground room.

According to the Prosecutor, the environment was organised professionally, with walls coated with thermosonic materials and equipped with ventilation, lighting and heating systems. Special electric lamps were installed, temperature control equipment and moisture, air flow pipes, and plant irrigation water supply.

Within space, special areas were found to dry up cannabis, where plants were hung in improvised structures. Dozens of pots filled with soil were recorded on the floor, and the remains of cut plants as well as other drugs used to cultivate and process.

The investigative actions seized some 5.4kg of suspected narcotic cannabis sativa, in the process of drying and packed in small doses, a small amount of suspected cocaine, electronic scales, ventilation and lighting systems, as well as a pistol with compressed gas bomb.

Investigations also revealed that the environment was supplied with illegal electricity through direct connection to the distribution network.
