Trump examines troop shift from Germany to another European state

US President Donald Trump has acknowledged that he is considering the possibility of shifting some of the American troops to Poland.
The statement was made during a conversation with journalists at the White House and coincided with a broader debate on a new balance of NATO power in Central and Eastern Europe.
When asked about the possibility of shifting some of the forces to Poland, Trump responded that"is possible", stressing very good relations with Polish authorities.
In his speech, he also referred to President Carol Newrock, whom he had previously publicly supported.
"Polonia would like that. We have excellent relations with Poland. I have excellent relations with President Navrocki. Remember, I supported him and he won--even though he was suffering a lot of losses, he still won. He's a great fighter, a great guy, I like him very much, so it's possible... I can do", the American president declared, reports Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
As reported, the US administration plans to withdraw about 5,000 troops from Germany over the next 6-12 months. Trump, however, has suggested that the reduction rate could be even greater.
Currently, about 35,000 to 37,000 US military personnel are stationed in Germany.
A few days ago, Navrock said Poland is ready to host American troops withdrawn from Germany and has the necessary military infrastructure.
Varshava sees any American forces growth as a way to strengthen regional security and NATO's eastern arm.
"We already have the infrastructure in the country and it's in the interest of Poland, Lithuania and Baltic states that as many American troops are deployed here", Nawrocki said. /Periscope
