Former Pentagon official: Israel obstructing US-Iran peace process

A former Pentagon official has stated that Israeli attacks in Lebanon are posing the main obstacle to efforts to reach a peace agreement between the United States and Iran, despite the stated interest of both sides for dialogue.
Alia Awadallah, former Pentagon defense official, in an interview for Sky News, said there is a key “stumbling block” in the US negotiations, but it does not directly relate to either of these countries.
According to her, Israel's continued military actions in Lebanon are negatively affecting the diplomatic dynamics in the Middle East and from Tehran's perspective.
However, she expressed optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement between the parties.
According to Awadallah, both Washington and Tehran have shown willingness to continue the diplomatic process, while the ceasefire, despite reported violations, remains officially in force according to White House statements.
Otherwise, the US and Iran have reached a cease-fire weeks ago after weeks of war. /Periscope
