MINTI fines 90 thousand euros KEDS for irregularities with electrical indicators

The Ministry of Industry, Trade, Trade and Innovation (MINTI), responsible for the Central Market Supervising Inspector (IQMT), has imposed 18 fines on KEDS, worth a total of 90 thousand euros, because for the 18 registered indicators, it has been found to have expired their validity deadline.
MINTI during April 2026, has continued to verify and complains to consumers about irregularities in electrical accounts. The ad hoc commission, specifically founded on this problem, has accepted 574 complaints supported by evidence of clock and date deviations.
During this period of time, 54 electrical supplements have been withdrawn from consumers in 7 regions of the Republic of Kosovo, which have been subjected to laboratory testing at the Kosovo Metrology Agency (AMK), where in 38 of them time deviations have been found, while in 18 figures verified that they had expired their validity deadline.
Consumer polls, backed by evidence of time constraints, are being forwarded to KESCO, which requires immediate compensation for damaged consumers.
Official reports by the verifiator commission will also be delivered to justice bodies as evidence of the development of launched investigative procedures.
