In judging Pantic and Zariq, witnesses testify to the killing of nine family members, throwing troops into the well and blasting him for hiding traces

At the Constitutional Court in Pristina on Tuesday, judicial investigation has continued in the case against war crimes indictees Momir Pantic and Zarko Zariq, who are charged with crimes against the civilian population in the Istog region during 1998-1999. Witnesses Enver and Lipaj Beatings, who gave their testimony regarding the murder and slaughter case of nine of their family members in April 1999.
Witness Enver Lipaj said that with the start of NATO bombings on 24 March 1999, the situation in the municipality of Istog deteriorated immediately, reports “Justice Trust“,transmit Periscope.
The Witness claimed that on March 25th, as a result of Serbian police pressure, residents of Istog and surrounding villages were forced to flee their homes and move towards the villages of Vrella, University and Calican.
“Populata has taken her way to the village of Vrelle, Studenica and Calican for her own safety,” said Lipaj, adding that his family had settled in his father-in-law's home, S.S.Z. In Studice.
On April 12th 1999, due to continued promotions, Lipaj indicated that they withdrew to a shed in Caquitaj neighbourhood.
Enver Lipaj said that during this time he was committed as a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) at the starting point at Agricultural Cooperativa “Ekonomia” in Kamenica, stressing that they have been monitoring the terrain consistently.
He confirmed that through dylbi, he identified Serbian police vehicles moving from Lubozhda to Vrela's source.
“We have identified in the dyke the militia vehicles, 101st and the blue truck,” said Lipaj, adding that the militia was the first force to enter the village to do “clearing the ground”.
Witness Enver Lipaj told of the Catholic massacre, claiming that the critical event occurred on the morning of April 13, 1999, about 0800 to 10:00.
He said his mother, S.L., his two daughters, Q.L. and M.L. Along with the N.L., L.L., H.L. and S.L. They had returned to his father - in - law's home, S. S. Mr., to prepare food. He said Serbian forces seized his family, shot them and thrown them into the well (binary).
The Witness described the murder process as a triple crime.
The “took down the nines, killed them, shot them, and finally shot them in the bunker”, Lipa said.
He added that to ensure that no one remains alive and to lose traces of the massacre, Serbian police used explosive devices to detonate the well, completely destroying it.
Regarding accused Momir Pantic, the Lipaj witness said he was commander in Istog and could have stopped the killings.

The Witness confessed that during the exhumation conducted on June 25, 1999, the massacred bodies of nine victims were found: S.L. The mother of the witness who was 65-year-old, his daughters Q.L. (15-year-old) and M. L.C.E. 13-year-olds and other L.L. and N.L., H.L., S.L., S.S.Z., as well as H.M., who was a guest.
Witness Lipaj said the process of exhuming nine corpses was documented by Italian KFOR forces and international media like Euronews. He said Benelux correspondent Heidi Bellaj had recorded the entire process of extracting corpses with video tapes, which was then sent to The Hague Tribunal as evidence.
During the confrontation with defendant Pantic's defender, lawyer Milos Delevic said there was written evidence of the massacre being ordered by the accused, Lipa said his position has made him aware of the massacre killings.

Witness Enver Lipa's wife, Rahime Lipa, indicated that on the day of the mask -- April 13th morning around 0600, Enver's mother and her daughters returned to her parents' house to cook bread and take food for others.
The Witness claimed that their son, Liridon Lipa, had returned for the call to leave, but the girls had asked to stay a little longer until a loaf was prepared.
In her testimony, Lipa mentioned that her brother-in-law Isa Lipa had seen police forces at the site called Rasadnik.
Indictee Momir Pantic claimed that in 1998, through the local community, he had helped Albanians collect their weapons to prevent the Serbian Ministry of Interior's special shares.
However, witness Enver Lipaj dismissed these claims, claiming that the handover of some invalid “rifles did not save Albanians after the militia continued with murder and burns, citing the extermination of Rugova and Rexhaj families, who were the first figs of the accused.
Since she had not been home when her family members were killed, the witness was asked how he knows that the murder occurred that day.
The Witness Lipaj explained that she had first learned from her family member, Mr.S.Z., who from a height in the mountains had observed waxing and had seen a crowd of people gathered at her father's house about 8:00 or 9: 00 a.m.
According to the indictment, filed on September 1st 2024 by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), former chief of police station in Istog, Momir Pantic and former police officer Zarko Zaric, are charged that, at co-ordination, the criminal work has been carried out “the crime crime crime of the war against the civilian population”.
