Iran challenges Trump: Ready to respond to US threats in Hormuz Strait

In a new statement, Iran says it is ready to respond to the US “threats regarding the situation in the Hormuz Strait.
There are reactions again from Tehran following President Donald Trump's announcement, who said the US Army will start escorting ships blocked in the Hormuz Strait starting Monday's <x0nd) morning, according to the Middle East time”.
Iran's Foreign Ministry has declared it is ready to “respond to US threats” in this strategic area.
In a statement distributed by the semi-official Mehr agency, spokesperson Esmail Baghaie said Iran remains <x0->rooner and defender” Hormuz Strait. He added that “anies and shipping companies well know that ensuring their security requires co-ordination with the relevant authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran”, the BBC writes.
Baghaie also stressed that there is no reason for states respecting the law to follow <x0-> illegal actions” from the US.
Meanwhile, earlier the head of Iran's central command stated that “will be attacked by any foreign armed force” that tries to get near or enter this strait, “although the US Army”.
