Inflation in Kosovo reaches 7.5 percent, these are the most expensive products

Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) disclosed that the annual inflation rate in April 2026 has reached 7.5 per cent, compared to the same period last year, while monthly inflation was 1.1 per cent, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
According to the Consumption Awards Index (IHÇK), the largest annual increase in prices is recorded in the transport group at 16.1 percent, followed by housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by 15.2 percent.
Price hikes have also been noted in restaurants and accommodation services with 5.8 percent, food and nonalcohol drinks by 5.6 percent, as well as alcohol, tobacco, and narcotics by 5.1 percent.
The AKS reports that prices have increased in health sectors by 4.7 percent, personal care and services by 3.6 percent, furniture and household equipment by 3.1 percent, recreation, sports and culture by 3.0 percent, as well as clothing and shoes by 2.3 percent.
“This is primarily explained with the raising of prices influenced by the main groups of COICOP: transport (16,1 %); shelter, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (15,2 %); restaurants and accommodation services (5), non-alcohol food and drink (5,6, %); alcohol, alcohol, tobacco and narcotics (5, %1); health (4,7); personal, social protection and various goods and services (36); furniture and household equipment and household maintenance; %1; sports, sports, sports and drugs, %0; and clothes; and %33x), and shoes; and %x) The latest ACHB.
On the other hand, price reductions have been recorded in the information and communication group by 0.2 percent and in the education sector by 0.5 percent.
As to monthly changes, compared to March 2026, the ASS shows that 1.1 percent inflation has been largely influenced by price increases in transportation by 4.9 percent, alcohol and tobacco by 1.2 percent, stock and culture by 0.4 percent, as well as household furniture and equipment by 0.3 percent.
The easier price increases were also in nonalcohol food and drink, as well as clothing and shoes by 0.1 percent.
Meanwhile, the monthly drop in prices has been noted in the group of personal care and services by 0.2 percent.
Meanwhile, according to the AKS, annual inflation in March 2026 had increased by an average of 6.7%.
