Congressman Keith Self, together with Congressman Ritchie Torres and Congressman Mike Lawler, recognise the fact that four NATO member states do not recognise Kosovo, saying the US should encourage these states to change their stance on Kosovo.
Kosovo has demonstrated a clear commitment to regional stability and strategic approach with NATO countries, but its progress towards membership in the alliance is hampered by the lack of recognition by a small number of allies”, Congressman Self has declared.
Kosovo's decision in the alliance is essential to reject the growing influence of opponents in Europe. The United States should encourage Greece, Romania, Slovakia and Spain to reconsider their positions and ensure that Kosovo has a reliable and attainable path towards membership.”, Self has said.
