Greece warns new border measures following implementation of E system ES: Landfalls on Evzon and Kipi

Greek authorities have warned new measures to speed up controls and lower expectations at the Evzon and Kipi border points, following the implementation of the new European system EES, Periscope follows.
The decision has been made at a working meeting in Thessaloniki, called by Greek Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Konstantinos Gulekas, where representatives of institutions, security services and local authorities participated.
According to Gulecas, the influx of tourists and trade transport to Greece is steadily increasing, while mandatory biometric data control for every person entering or leaving the country is causing additional delays during police raids. Meanwhile, Greek Minister for the Protection of Citizens Michalis Hrisohoidis said Greece is obliged to implement European legislation, adding that the EES system has also received complaints from Northern Macedonia and Serbia. / Periscope/
