American President Donald Trump has announced that two US-flagged merchant ships have successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz.

The US Central Command also said Navy-run missile destroyers are operating in the Arabian Gulf as they cross key waterway in support of “Operation Freedom”.

This is the name given to the operation announced by Trump yesterday.

He declared that the US will start guiding ships “safely” outside the Strait of Hormuz, Telegrafi reports, broadcast Periscope.

Military support for the mission will reportedly include rocket blasters, planes and 15,000 troops.
