In absentia against 21 persons for war crimes, initial sessions are set

The Constitutional Court in Pristina has announced that it has set the initial hearing on the criminal case, which is subject to review of the indictment filed by the Kosovo Republic Special Prosecutor against 21 war crimes suspects.
The report reportedly, according to the prosecution's proposal, the trial in the case will be carried out in the absence of indictees, because the same ones have been elusive until the moment the indictment was established.
For this reason, the communique calls on defendants, who are too high to appear and surrender to the Kosovo Republic's prosecution bodies. Also urged are all persons who possess relevant information regarding the whereabouts of the accused to communicate this information to the Kosovo Police or other competent bodies, the report says.
